1. The Clean, Simple Interface
It's incredibly quick and easy to customize a site's design. Once a theme is selected easily add content, change fonts, colors, and backgrounds while seeing the changes in real time. HTML or CSS knowledge is not needed to arrange or customize anything. Also, Adobe Typekit is included which contains over 60 awesome fonts that would otherwise be annoying to embed.
2. A Prettier Mobile Version
People will browse portfolios on their phone so give them the best experience possible. Squarespace looks more polished with subtle animations between pages and a sleeker menu.
3. An Integrated Blog
This post was written on my Squarespace dashboard. I can edit portfolio items, static pages, and my blog all in the same place. The interface isn't cluttered like Wordpress and it has more functionality than tumblr.
4. Built-in Analytics
I do love Google Analytics which everyone should be familiar with but Squarespace has it's own clean way to see your site traffic.
5. The Student Discount
Sign up with a university email and Squarespace is $60 for a year which is pretty standard for a year of web hosting with a domain.
It's exciting to see platforms like this that make building the web more accessible and also beautifully designed. It will be cool to see what kind of functionality will be added next.
